Pentax K10D

This camera created the most beautiful pictures of every digicam i ever had.

Unfortunatly it somehow broke with little actuations. (approx 60.000) it jammed and didnt fire again. I was really heartbroken and disapointed when this happend. I bought this camera new when it was released. I spent 800 € on it, which was really a lot of money for me, since i was a student.

Pentax has still a special place in my heart. Although i wouldnt buy another anymore. The K10D and the Pentax 28mm i bought used, was the only photographic eqipment which broke on me, just by using it. I dont trust my money on Pentax anymore. Sorry.
I switched to Nikon, and i never expierenced a failure with Nikon equipment. Although i have to admit, that Pentax still to this day, puts the photography and the photographer in the center of their products. Its hard to explain, but for me Pentax is somehow all about photography and art. More than the other brands. But thats perhabs only my opinion. Still i prefer reliable eqipment.


What i like:
if it gets enough light it is capaple of producing images with a neutral tendernes and balanced colorrichness which is just plain beautiful and carasssing to your eyes. the pictures have such a gentle natural awesomeness. it is really great. it makes slightly better images than the D200, wich sports the same sensor. (10MP Sony)
especially great if you use flashes.
constructed to high standards.

What i dont like:
build to lesser standards then the Nikon equipment and failed.
the camera is a little to small for my hands. it should be 1 or 2 cm higher. Nikon D200 is perfect for me.


Recommendations:

The K10D is a camera of the last generation of really good CCD sensors. This sensor needs a lot of light, but if you give enough light it will give you in return incredible rich colors.
