Hi, my name shall not be written...

I am from Austria in Europe. 


And for some reasons :-) i wanted to come to Oregon in the USA.
So i prepared everything to come over.






Thats me before i left Austria


and thats me now :-)....



I flew to Portland in Oregon, USA.
After coming through approximately 1001 security-checks....

I really like the toilets over here
in Austria we have two types of toilets. the ones which stink
and the ones which will splash you from beneath.
the ones here work fine.



most of the young Oregonians are atheists
the ones who are not, pray to this god:

the almighty flying spaghetti monster and raptor jesus.


Oregon is a very green place


















Yes, they really have a lot of trees.





The coast...

when i saw this coast the first time it took my breath away.
It is unbelievable beautiful. even when the pictures look nice,
they can not show how incredible this place is.

























the Oregonians like using their bicycles very much.
but in comparison to Austria, hardly anyone uses one.
(Yes there is a tree on that building, its Oregon)


my girlfriends brother lent me a bicycle, so i can ride one too.


on almost all crossings pedestrians have to press for green.
they dont get automatically green like the cars do.


Police cars look like they come straight out of a demolition derby

the main square of Eugene is tiny
it consists only of two columns a statue and a few benches



in the middle of the square is a statue of one of the big men of Eugene
he was a story teller, he wrote "one flew over the cuckcuckoo's nest".


in front of the library is another guy, but i have no idea who he is...

i was told that he represents the early seddlers.

Springfield the neighbor town of Eugene is really the Springfield you know!

the hometown of the simpsons!
the inventor of the simpsons is matt groening from Portland Oregon.
and i was in Springfield!
BUT!! There is no nuclear power plant, we were tricked!


sometimes you can see a small bag lying on the ground next to trails in the woods.

when I asked, I was told that it is full of dog shit.
the owners of the dogs put it inside and leave them on the side of the trail,
and when they come back the same trail, they will pick them up.


on the first days of December snow was falling in Eugene.
usually the snow melts very quickly. but this time the snow stayed for more than one week.
and even ice appeared on the roads. the Eugene population isnt used to drive on snow.
so especially on the first two days that was a big problem for the whole town

from above the city looks nice and calm...

....but.......

.... in the city the police closes the roads....


and people are crashing their cars into each other, especially at hills,
hardly anyone has winter tyres,


and leave them finally on the side of the road and go home.

schools are closed since more than one week.



fortunately after more than one week the snow starts melting.
